GWGAllisfan 159 Posted January 4, 2007 After several false starts, (It seemed like there was always something that kept me from having time over the holidays) I finally got to start on the dissasembly of the landlord so I could begin the refurbishment project. Notice the expansive fully dedicated to tractoring shop area! :D Here's the before from the front side: And from the rear: I'd already tinkered on tryind a wire brush on the seat deck and painting with chevy orange DE-1607: About 90 minutes of dissasembly: Once I get it to just rolling chassis I plan to try to it wash it good, then decide the best method for paint removal. GWGAllisfan 159 Posted January 5, 2007 Thanks I hope to have it looking much better soon. I photographed it a lot so I could remember how it went together/ came apart. Maybe that will help in the re-assembly.

GWGAllisfan 159 Posted January 6, 2007 Disassembly finished today. It looks like this now There was grease caked everywhere. I took it to the car wash as a rolling chassis, which helped but there was still a lot of work left for the engine degreaser spray and the wire brush. I just have to figure out what final paint prep method to use and get started on re-assembly. As I took it apart it appears someone repainted it at some point. under the faded red, almost pink paint, was the original red-orange.

GWGAllisfan 159 Posted January 13, 2007 Made a little more progress today. Got a few of the bigger parts cleaned and painted while it was such a warm day. Still a long way to go, but as long as progress is made it will get there. I have to hurry before I forget how it all goes together.

GWGAllisfan 159 Posted January 27, 2007 Back on the wheels...well almost. Spend several hours with wire brush, sander and scrapers and got several more parts paint stripped, and re-coated. This upper dash support was a real pain. The pits in the metal were cleaned out, but they still show..It's under the gas tank so it won't ever be seen I need to get the tires off the rear wheels so i can paint them, then decide what tires to use. I have three of the old goodyears rear tires, but they are really showing age and would need tubes. The front's on it are definitely non stock, but I think I want to go with some narrow fronts. Open for opinions.
MPH 12 Posted January 28, 2007 Nice progress Randy. Front tires= = = = Tri-ribs, ie, tractor tires. As for the pitting, they way I see it, that's just part of these old tractors heritage. Figure they earnd them pits by surviving someones abuse and still stong enough to fix up and do more work.
