bob1959 0 Posted January 11, 2007 I have a b-112 that I'm adding a hydro lift to. I'm still waiting on parts but should have together and in paint this wk. I know that the photos show the bottom of the gas side cover cut off. Has anyone just cut enough out and left the cover full. I wasn't sure if the control value sticks out past the cover or just the bracket that the control lever is on. I just think it would look better and protect the value from getting water in the top and just sitting there. I was also wondering about putting a little oil in the top of value where the spring is to keep from corroding.

Kent 436 Posted January 11, 2007 I cut one for my B-210 similar to the way Elon cut his on the 3012 -- leaving the two bolt holes in the front. The rear of it can be trimmed a bit higher if needed, since the curve of the dashboard holds it in place. Note that you need all the room you can get to check the fluid (actually motor oil) level, and especially to add it. I end up using a funnel with a tube on it designed for putting in automatic transmission fluid in a car. It's a bit of a pain, because you have to hold that up high while at the same time watch the fluid level as you're filling it... Willy 2 Posted January 11, 2007 I have a question for someone,if a starter gen spin the eng like it should. Is that an indication that the thing should also charge? I replaced the voltage reg thinking that was the trouble,as it wasn't keeping the battery charged. It was a used one so it might not be good. Thank for any help. HubbardRA 19 Posted January 12, 2007 Willy, I don't want to hijack this thread, but quickly, the starter coil and the charging coil are separate in the S-G. One can be good, and the other can be bad.
