Powrmax loader control valve

Recommended Posts

Anyone have guidance, advice, information on the DIY rebuilding of the loader control valve (or any other similar hydraulic control valve) on the stock front end loader for a powrmax? I've got the valve on my bench and the spool valves out, but there must be more to this thing than replacing a few orings. I've done a quick internet search this morning, but can't find anything on rebuilding control valves. Are the springs at the end of the spool valves the centering springs? Does anybody know what the two small screwed in plugs located on top of the valve between the four hose ports are for and do they need to be removed during the rebuild process? There's also a screwed in plug on the front of the valve next to the lift handle: what does this do and does it need to come out? Pressure relief valve maybe? If this info isn't already on this website somewhere, I'd be glad to put together a quick "how to" article with pictures for posting, assuming it all turns out OK! Thanks for the help, mike bennett fresno ca

Mike the screw in plug on the back next to the levers is for the pressure and the screw on cap inthe front is for the detents for the float position if you take it off watch for the small steel balls in there that are the detents. the other 2 I do not know about I have not had them out.

Here's manual for a large frame tractor control valve, should be the same for many control valves. http://simplicitytechpubs.com/6767PRINT/PDF_files/TP_500_973_01_SV_SMA_Sec15.pdf

The O rings are for external oil leaks only. You cannot rebuild these valves but you can buy a new one as I did. I'll have to go through my invoices for the info. Not available from Simplicity.
