MarksA-C 93 Posted January 19, 2007 I have my plow and hitch on my tractor. I hope to try it out making a path to the "shed" in the back yard. I just can't make the plow get to the ground. I adjusted the plow hitch as low as I can, the connection rod is also as far as it can go. Should I make it in the same mount arrangment as my snowblower? Thank You
KSever 8 Posted January 19, 2007 Mark, As far as I know there is only one way to mount that hitch. I just went and installed the hitch on my Broadmoor to see if there was a different way but no way, it can only mount the way you have it. It does look like the middle part of your hitch is too low compared to mine. Did you somehow lower the center of the hitch? If so, you will make the front part of the hitch connect to the blade at the wrong angle causing the blade not to hit the ground right. The only difference I can see between yours and mine is the back mounting hole where I have one hole you have two holes and mine mounts higher on top in the back. Raise your hitch to the top hole and see if that works, It should put the front part of the hitch at a different angle for the blade. Here's mine
bud119195 119 Posted January 19, 2007 Do You have the correct lift rod? maybe the one you have is too short.
KSever 8 Posted January 19, 2007 Sneek preview, don't look at the motor and deck it stays here on my other broadmoor but the rest is yours.
MarksA-C 93 Posted January 19, 2007 Well, my 610 has 2 mount holes. The lower ones are for the deck, and the top ones are what I use as my snow throwers position. I'll try some more tomorrow. And bud, I think I have the correct rod. Or at least thats what a few people told me. And Ksever, I like it!
skot71 0 Posted January 19, 2007 Mark, mine mounts like the photos that Kris posted. I had to make a lift rod though. I'll try to take some photos tomorrow and post them here.
MarksA-C 93 Posted January 19, 2007 What if I add a 3-5" section of chain at the end of the rod at the hitch? Because the more parts I get, the more parts I will probably miss-place.
MPH 12 Posted January 20, 2007 Mark, why not try mountting in the top hole like Kris has his. If you look at your picture and his taken from behind the rear tire you can see the big difference it makes in the angle of the lower portion of the hitch. As I've yet to see one of these little guys dead or alive I can only base my opinion on what I see in the pics.
Simpleton7016 3 Posted January 20, 2007 Mark....post a picture of your lift rod.....I had the same problem with my thrower but adjusted the lift rod and all was well.
msiebern 0 Posted January 20, 2007 I'll have to agree with Kris & Marty. By moving to the other holes, not only will you be changing the angle, but you will effectively be moving the hitch closer to the tractor. This will have the effect of giving you roughly at least another inch of down travel with your current lift rod.
Willy 2 Posted January 20, 2007 Just a thought, unless you need down pressure why not replace the rod with a chunk of chain? I've been plowing for years that way.
MarksA-C 93 Posted January 20, 2007 Oh, stupid me. I forgot that the older roadmoors had only 1 mount spot, the same as my top mount. I'll switch it around and see what happens. Thank You all for the info and Ideas!
MarksA-C 93 Posted January 20, 2007 Well, It seems to be working now. Thank You all for the help. My shop is actually a room just behind the kitchen, walk out the door and there it is. It's the front half of the 3 car garage, walk out the back door into the other half of the garage. It was used at one time for storage, don't ask me for what I'd have to tell. As for the carpet it's about to go and be changed to tile and the other half indoor/outdoor carpet. Welding over carpet is not a good thing, let me tell you carpet does burn Quick!

UCD 14 Posted January 20, 2007 Kris It was a Body shop, right.
KSever 8 Posted January 21, 2007 LOL, Maynard depends what you would call a body shop. The house was built in 1885, then added on in the 20's to double operate as a funeral home and residence until about 7 years ago now I'm converting it back with the wife and myself to an all residential single family house. Will end up with just over 5200 sq feet of living space. Oh by the way yes that shop was a storage room yep you guessed it for the caskets.
4xbill 2 Posted January 21, 2007 Better casket storage, than the "cooler"
