Looks like something Fast Paul, Elon, and/or Biggie Rat should jump on. :D Would be fun to stuff one in a tractor.

My concern with any Chinese engine is parts support, in addition to quality of materials and assembly, to include tolerances on precision parts. IMO, you should consider the Chinese engines "disposable." When they break, plan on replacing them... With all that said, I have to admit that I've considered putting a Chinese gas engine on my wood chipper. I can get 11-13 HP for the price of 7-8 HP in a US-brand engine. My friend has a water pump with a 6.5 HP Chinese engine on it. It's a Honda rip-off and seems to run good and quiet, but the "crudeness" of some of the engineering is apparent just looking on the outside at such things as carb choke and linkage, etc.

Back when I ran generators or power I looked into a Chi diesel that was real cheap, when I saw it came with a rebuild kit I took the warning and kept what I had.

You must have been looking at the Hardy diesel tractors and engines. Either they knew it wouldn't last long or knew you'd have a hard time getting parts so might as well include them from the start, lol. Eventually the chinese workers will demand more pay and benefits so the cost difference won't be able to offset the shipping costs as easily. Just like with Japan now.

Cumins has engines being made in China for their market. I think there are chinese built single cylinder diesels that are copies of yanmar engines too. At least on ebay :)
