Hydro install

Recommended Posts

I have finished rebuilding the hydro lift for my b-112. I am going to install in the tractor but had a quick question. What is the easiest way to remove the shift cover? I thought that I had enough bolts out but could not buge it. I hope that the whole stiring tower does not have to come out. It may just need to be leveraged up and out. I was looking at the 2112 simplity manual and it looks like they show the cover and tower as one peice. I want to do the install quick once I tear it appart. Tractor is set up for snow and we are finally getting some, I hate to have it in parts when i need it. Also with the shift cover off can I get to the key on the drive shaft at the BGB without coming up from bottom. Thanks

IMO you'll be a lot better off and do it faster buy takeing the extra half dozen bolts out and removeing the dash as one assembly. You'll also need to remove one bolt in the steering shaft and the clutch pedal return spring as you'll remove the double nutted bolt that the spring attaches to. A few wires and it's off and out of the way. Then it's very easy to install the pulley and cyl. and the main pump will craddle in place when you lower the dash back down. Put a few bolts in the lower dash hand tight, put the pump in place and check the belt/pulley alignment and tighten everything down. It should be about a 2 hr job your first time.

Hi Folks. In reading the recent posts, I came across this part of the site on installation of hydraulic lift systems and all that it has to offer. I just happen to be restoring a B-12 with a hydraulic lift, so as you can imagine I find the info very interesting. Now I understand most of you people offering information are extremely knowledgable and that this club website has GOBS of information. So, hats off! But what I want to know is this. How does a person find this info (such as the lift install instr.) without someone pointing it out? What I mean is, Ive got owners manuals for early B-10, and Big 10, with break downs on entire tractors and I've not seen any field installation instructions on anything. So what publications had them in originally? Thanks and keep up the good work^ Todd

They were seperate publications. Parts manuals or install instructions that came with the kit http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/6767PRINT/PDF_files/TP_400_1297_00_AT_S.pdf
