Killer_A-C 0 Posted January 28, 2007 I need a manual for mounting a set to our B1. Thanks,Matt
ehertzfeld 1 Posted January 28, 2007 Not to sound stupid or any thing, I just don't get how those work. If it's mounted in the center, wouldn't your rear tires ruin what you just cultivated? I guess if there are out to each side, for two rows it would work. I just don't get it.
D-17_Dave 12 Posted January 28, 2007 Elon, it goes back to what a set of cultivators are for in the first place. It's common for the front set to break up the soil with sweeps right beside your plant bed. You can see these better and adjust your steering accourdingly to keep from takeing half a row out. You'll also break the furrow loose so when the rear tires pass over the center of the row the rear set of coulters can finish moveing the dirt out of the lowest part of the row and remove the tire tracks. It you'll remember the cultivators on larger row crop tractors they were mounted on the front beside the engine so you had a good view of evrything. If you messed up one row you could take out 4 rows at a time.lol

Killer_A-C 0 Posted January 28, 2007 Thanks for that pic Greg. I wish I had a ops manual for them,Matt
B-16_IC 1,029 Posted January 28, 2007 I looked in my dealer parts catalog for attachments and it shows a second toolbar for the rear to cover the wheel tracks. It hangs on the rear lift. All the old farm tractors with front mount cultivators also had a pair of sweeps on the rear to cover tire tracks. I just thought I'd throw that in ;).
