firefoxz1 4 Posted January 29, 2007 Here are some pics of the snowblower I won on E-Bay for $26. Picked it up today and being I have no A/C's and the S/N sticker is shot I think I will clean it up and paint it Simplicity orange. The only thing I see wrong is it didn't have the engage or lift rod and the shoes are wore out, other than that I think it would be useable as is. I took it apart a little to fit in the Jeep. MarksA-C 93 Posted January 29, 2007 Nice Score! Also, did A/C put rope on thier blowers or do some people do that?
firefoxz1 4 Posted January 29, 2007 Mark, should be a cable.
AC808 0 Posted January 29, 2007 wow...nice score...you know you could get $75-100 for the hitch alone..
Kent 436 Posted January 29, 2007 quote:Originally posted by firefoxz1 Mark, should be a cable. I've had them pass through here with ropes instead of cables. I think the older B-10/B-12 vintage ones (first of the single-belt type) used ropes... D-17_Dave 12 Posted January 29, 2007 You might paint it Simplicity orange but you have to leave that prefect AC decal alone.
Robert Kehoe 0 Posted January 30, 2007 I have had ones with a rope and a cable
MPH 12 Posted January 30, 2007 Looks to be a good score. After painting mine all up with all new bearings in to find it has a 2 inch twist when raised, in fact OI can't run it in float position because the right side is airborn, I'm saying you ought to mount it on the tractor before you clean it up too make sure it is straight. Decided when I get warmer days gonna take the heatting torch to mine outside, because of burning paint fumes, and try to twist it back to level.
firefoxz1 4 Posted January 30, 2007 Kent, Thanks I did not know that so once again my wealth of knowledge from here has grown. OK I'll paint the blower orange but repaint the chute cap off-white to blend the A/C and Simplicity and save the good decal? Why Not. I bought this for my 3012 I bought last year, and is still in pieces being painted and converted to hydro. I got some attachments and odd and ends with it along with all the manuals including one for a snowblower. Here's the kicker, I just went through the extra stuff I got with the tractor and low and behold there is a clutch engage rod there along with a lift bar and of course the bracket for the clutch rod was still on the tractor when I got it. So I'm set once I clean it up. I said it in Sunday's chat session, I quess even I step in "it" every once in awhile.
Just_Me 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Thats a heck of a deal, for $26.00 bucks;)
msasso 0 Posted January 31, 2007 Ha, I almost bid against you on that but decided against it last minute. I already have a snow blower on the Jacobsen and I prefer the dozer blade on my b-12. she pushes dirt, snow and damn near anything without any trouble Matt
firefoxz1 4 Posted January 31, 2007 Matt, I Thank you for not bidding. I have a blower already too but I couldn't pass up bidding on this for my 3012(H) project.
hdrhdr 0 Posted February 1, 2007 This one was yellow when I started my rebuild. Paint it orange:D:D I had to make both rods for mine also. You can still get new skid shoe from the dealers. Randy
