Glacier
My big Ten has a over sized pulley on the tranny ( should be 6.5? ) What will the larger pulley do ( slower or faster?) Should I leave it or go back to the 6.5 ?
firefoxz1
The bigger one makes it go slower and was usually used with a tiller for the slow ground speed. If you have no need for the slower ground speed and have the pulley, I say switch it.
dav
i had a large, i think 10 inch, pulley on mine to use when rototilling. it did slow the tractor down considerably from what the 6+ pulley moved it but i still had to ride the clutch to till. for a while, i just swapped from the 6.5 inch to the 10, depending on what i was doing. that required a second belt and messing with the guides. i made a guide from a craftsman guide because the belt on the 10 inch pulley kept jumping off when i clutched. i think it took about 20 minutes to pull a pulley and put the other on and adjust things. then i found a hi-lo! if you can find a hi-lo, that's the way to go. Glacier
The hi/lo will be the next thing on the wish list. Right now it is a hydro lift, then chevron back tires.
