MarksA-C 93 Posted February 25, 2007 Well, No way to say it. My snowblower didn't work for :||. I had all the rust cleaned out and painted nice new paint inside it. Then sat in the basement for a month. Clogged every 4 feet, even at a crawl at TOP rpm. Is the snow just to heavy and wet?
BLT 725 Posted February 25, 2007 That stuff was fortified slush. Mark don't judge today's snow on equipment performance. Even my two stage walk behind was having fits.
LPH-5 0 Posted February 25, 2007 to much slush for the B-110 here also, plain won't work (spring 24-days away)
ka9bxg 3 Posted February 25, 2007 I went right through it with the 3112.I could not see for quite a bit of it but did get the drive cleaned out. Had a strong east wind that kept the snow away from the garage.I sure like that cab.Bob
shanhamm 0 Posted February 25, 2007 I had no problem with my snowblowers performance in this wet heavy snow. Actually I was very pleased how it performed today. But to keep tradition, every time we get snow like this there is always somthing that has to break. The idler pully on the blower hitch, the bearings seized, and the bolt holding it on snaped. Thanks to the local simplicity dealer being open on sundays, and luckily they had my part in stock. 20 min. of putting her all back together I was back up, and blowing snow! Ronald Hribar 127 Posted February 25, 2007 I had my problems today, but 7116 did well. I am looking for a piece of teflon to put in chute this afternoon.
KSever 8 Posted February 25, 2007 Shanon, That Simplicity dealer over there in your town is one of the best around I know of. I go there for most of my parts besides the one in Cross Plains this side of Madison. As for snowblowing I had no problem until the city came back through and plowed the alley across the street back into my driveway with two feet high mounds, four feet in and of course their salt added to it didn't help matters. They even plowed the corner all the way over the sidewalk with about four feet high piles of snow which I can't and won't move, they can dig it out with their tractorsngr2. I already got pics and emailed to the city.
shanhamm 0 Posted February 25, 2007 I agree kris, When I went there today The guy took me in the parts room to save time looking up part numbers, and he pulled out a big box of pullys and we found the right one right away. The price on it was $28 and some change, he wrote up the slip for $22. I couldn't complain at all:D
Simpleton7016 3 Posted February 25, 2007 This was the heaviest stuff I can ever remember so don't be dissappointed. But you were probably under-horsepowered today. I did the whole neighborhood and turned down a lot of offers for cash. I did land a bottle of wine though. I had one major glitch today....I was doing a new driveway and was unaware of the presence of one of those black flexible 6 inch downspout extension. I hiw that thing head on and the thrower sucked it in and sent it about a foot out of my chute before the thrower seized up. Took me about an hour to get that thing out.....but she did get going again. I also threw a set collar on my lift rod. I seem to do that at least every other time out. Today, I put two set collars on....I hope that does the trick 'cuz I am out of them. I had to steal them from a NOS lift rod that I already have scheduled to go 'live; on e-bay tonight....I guess I will have to go to the hardware store to replace them before it sells. But alas, I might plow one more time today, but tonight, I leave for Miami for a week. Woohoo!. I love tractor time, but not as much as 75 degrees and sun. Mark, one of these days, I should give you a crash course on running my tractor. 'Cuz if we get a big snow this week, my wife will be screwed! No way she can get out there to dig her way out with the two little monsters running around. You could be my 'back-up' plan. The wife took pictures today too! i will get them posted in the days to come, but I gotta get packing here. Let's see, shorts, t-shirts, roller blades....):p

DanD 9 Posted February 25, 2007 I had really good luck with my 7016 and 42" snowblower. Never plugged once today 2/25/07 or yesterday. It has the front PTO and I had to put a new belt on it a while back since the old one shredded. I got a Simplicity belt and it was a little wider than the old one. Apparently the old one wasn't quite the correct belt. It really turned it into a blowing machine. The old one apparently slipped some. It got the job done but didn't set the world on fire. I guess what I'm trying to say is to be sure your belt(s) is/are correct and not slipping.
