Maybe you shouldn't leave any others parked in the shop that need a little TLC, they see one getting it and just fall apart.

Thanks for all of the comments:D Shannon, this tractor is going to take some time...no need to change name.. Roy, That sounds like a nice vacation sometime, might just have to think about that.:D Here is another pic. from today, I think we are done tearing down.


Now need to get seals on Monday and start putting the tranny back together.

Those are compartments from an old Ward LaFrance fire truck that i bought about 10 years ago to turn into a grain truck. The trucks unit # was 511

Mike, just out of curiosity, did that fire truck chassis have that tag axle on the back, or is that somthing you added?

OK now, Back to the tractor.... Got the transmission put back together this evening, had to replace some of the keys, and installed new seals new seals.


All back together and ready for paint.:D


Also finished the hydraulic and bench tested it the MPH method:D works good, no leaks:D Now if it warms up this weekend we are going to do some paintingdOdsm06

Got busy and sand blasted today.




Most of the little parts are done as well as the dash, front axle and main frame.


And also painted the tranny.:D Lots more to do....

Got most of the black painted


Now to start putting this back together...

Mike I have at least 4 I can load on the trailer if you get bored, Oops forgot the MH is still in storage the trailer is buried in snow and you are going to be plenty busy in the next few weeks.

Got a little more done this week in between geting equipment ready for sring and some other family issues.


Rearend is almost together and ready for it's final coat of paint.


Painted the main frame with JD New Construction Yellow. What do you guys think? is it close enough to original?

Mike It all looks Awesome The new John Deere is about the closest you going to get .I love all your posts and the backgound of life on the farm I'd love to have a chance to be there.I'm sure it's a ton of work but it sounds like you never have a boaring day :D
