D-17_Dave 12 Posted March 3, 2007 Finally had some time in the shop and had Tony bring his camera over and get some pics so I could let Ron Hribar and see some of my progress. I figured the rest of you guy's would like to see also. I did a separate control valve and cyl. power steering system on my 620 but Simplicity has been using this style lately on some of their models so I thought I'd give this a try. Here's the late model version of a Torque Amplifier that I'm using. This way I'll keep using the stock gearbox and linkage. I have it located right under the steering wheel in the upper dash. It will replace the upper dash support so I've had to do some creative fabrication with 1/4" plate so it will hold up under the steering torque. All I like is the lower bracket and cutting the current steering shaft down and coupling the shaft to the new valve above the universals. It's very tight and just will leave room for the lift valve. The sun was behind this pic so it's a little had to see. This pic also shows the 24HP Honda in it's proper place. They could really do a better job of making an adapter plate for these kits. But it's all dialed in now ready for some serious use.

D-17_Dave 12 Posted March 4, 2007 I think it's a char-lynn unit but I'll have to check for sure. Matt, it may not have been built in one day. But I'm not sure the enginering dept. and public works dept. for Rome had a day job with limited time in the shop.:OB) Guese I'll have to talk to Nascar about having every other week end off.dOdsm01
