Has anyone found a solution for repairing rollers that have the bushings wore out of the roller? I repaired one with PVC pipe and oately epoxy putty but don't know how it will hold up. All of the rollers are worn down ( diameter ) and Jackes engine lists 2 1/2 by 6 3/4 for $6.00 to $7.00. I did not want to run one new roller with worn rollers, they go on a 712 A.C. Also Jackes offers front wheel bearing, oem for $11.80 and after market for $7.80 so what is the difference in quality?

All my rollers are worn but as long as they roll and I get a nice level cut I haven't worried to much about it. As for the wheel bearings the after market will last as good as the any as long as you grease them at lest once a year. Welcome to the club. Remember when you start a project,we like pictures.:D:D

I repaired the ones on my B-1 using gray (PVC?) conduit many years ago. Drilled the rollers and inserted a pieces of conduit equal to the roller length. They have held up very well.

The problems I find with worn rollers are if your like me and have a lot of uneven ground the outside rollers will wear more then the inner rollers. This effect is amplified when crossing the rough ground and the deck will leave uneven mowing strips on the overlap. Re bushing the rollers can come in many different ideas and most work well. The rollers wearing slowly you will not notice the unevenness until you repair the rollers and see the difference in your cut. It does make a noticeably large difference.
