3112H vs. 3212H

Other than decals, is there any real difference between these two models? Are all the parts interchangeable, and would attachments for one fit the other without modifications? I am asking because I would like to have two essentially identical tractors, but this info would tell me if I have a couple of models to choose from. Thanks.

You can interchange attachments with them -- as long as the 3212 doesn't have the "double-V" pulley on the center PTO. (There was a kit to change this to a single-pulley BTW.) You can also use any other attachment made for earlier models. The only interchange that doesn't work on the oldies is trying to use a 48" mower deck on a short-wheelbase tractor... it won't fit. Since both these are long wheel-base, you can use the 48" or the 42" that came with the short wheel-base machines...

Different style center PTO, different steering gear and drag link, and I believe the 3112 has the 2/3's steering wheel with metal spokes while the 3212 has the all vinyl covered, round steering wheel.

My 3112V has the "2/3" steering wheel that Pat describes, instead a round one like the 3212's. Perhaps they changed during the model production run, I'm not sure... It had the "double-V" center PTO but has been converted to a normal, single belt drive.

^ I wasn't really trying to -- or I'd have used this one. It's my favority "beauty shot" but it doesn't show the steering wheel...:o)
