I'm setting record for slowest rebuild

Still trying to get the landlord together. I was planning on wiring the instrument panel, and installing the engine, and maybe be riding today. Well That didn't work out. Had the dash all ready when an attempt to fix a small paint problem created a big one:(:(! It's surpising how long some things that look easy take. I spent a long time trying to get the steering gear and drag link to the right length. I didn't realize how worn the ball joints were, I should have bought new ones.....Oh well. I did get the engine in, drivetrain hooked up and start it. It was great to hear it run. By the way, does anyone know the part number for the aircleaner base? I thought I had one for this carb but I can't find it.

Still have to pack bearings and install the correct front wheels, redo the dash, etc. As long as there's progress. Hope the posts aren't boring everyone.

You're doing great. You're moving with lighting speed compared to me. I started a B-10 a year and a half ago, so far only 1/2 painted, only the engine is somewhat reassembled.

As far as speed goes I think if you go too fast you miss all the details. Remiinds me of a person I know rebuilding a tractor and only painting it to look good not to mention painting the engine and only (hoping) the engine runs good, just so everyone can say !WOW! That Looks Good!. If you're going to rebuild a tractor I go about one way. I hunt and find all the options this tractor came with, install them, rebuild and replace all the bearings/seals, bushings and whatever else it may need. Then I will tear it completely apart again after I know everything fits right and runs right, then I will paint it to look good and put the tractor back together. So take your time and do it right, nobody is putting any pressure on you to rebuild that tractor fast we're just waiting to see the final job and say !WOW!.

Lookin' good Randy!dOd I hope you find that air cleaner base. They're NLA unless you find a dealer with one still on the shelf. Part # 221755. Here's a used one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=009&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=190091183946&rd=1&rd=1

Thanks for the encouragement. On the air cleaner base, the carb I have is alightly different. The tube under the air cleaner is part of the lower carb body, not a separate piece. The round flat metal filter base is what's missing.
