Deck bearing install "Attn. Al"

Recommended Posts

Sorry, no pics tonight. Just wanted to share with all and esp Al since not long ago he gave a good reply to installing bearings in a deck spindle. Used the bolt method to press them in, worked great. Instead of grinding down an old bearing like mentioned I picked up a chunk of 3314 axle tube sitting on the rear of the bench, wow, that's close, in fact about .025 under the outside of the bearing. Cut off about 1/2" chunk with the chop saw and used it. Now part of my 5/8 by 6 inch bearing installing tool kit.sm01 The longer piece left I used to "set' the bearings when done. Thanks for that reply Al, made it EASY
