chrisdm8 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Hello, This will be my first post but have been reading for a week or so. I picked up an HB112 a few weeks ago and have really enjoyed it. It also came with two tillers, turning plow, discs, mower, dozer blade, and snow blower. It's in full working order but leaks a little here and there. So far it's done everything and more than I could ask for. So I thought I would show off my new toy to some people who would enjoy it! While I was in the barn taking pictures.... I snapped a shot of my future project, the '62 Corvair left in the barn when we bought the property. Enjoy! shanhamm 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Chris, welcome to the club. Thats a nice looking AC you have. I have never seen a spreader that small before.
ehertzfeld 1 Posted March 16, 2007 Awesome! Welcome my friend.:D Enjoy your new toy and we look forward to seeing more pictures of your B112 and you Corvair.
BroadmoorMan 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Hello and welcome to the club! I have to say that the HB-112 looks at home on a farm. Have fun and keep us posted!
Ronald Hribar 126 Posted March 16, 2007 I really like the Tiller. It is the 38 heavy duty is it not ?
chrisdm8 0 Posted March 16, 2007 The spreader was also left by the previous owner of the place. We have two horses so it's sized perfectly. The biggest problem so far has been the mud. I can't wait for things to dry out a bit so I can get out with the plow. We only have 5 acres so there was really no need for anything bigger. I really lucked into it because I didn't know anything about AC garden tractors until after I bought it but have been extremely pleased.
chrisdm8 0 Posted March 16, 2007 I'll have to check the tiller numbers in the morning but I was told the yellow tiller is "light duty" and the red on was "heavy duty".
BroadmoorMan 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Hello again. If the mud is a problem you should probably think about getting some AG tires.
chrisdm8 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Yeah, ideally I need a second set of wheels with ag tires. The main reason I bought it was as a mower so the turf tires made sense but now that I am finding out everything else I want to use it for I may need both.
Scott Salmons 7 Posted March 16, 2007 Welcome Chris!! I have wanted to find an HB for a long time and there it was just one state over. I am not sure but is that orange second tiller a revitalizer? I'm sure that someone here will let us know.
ehertzfeld 1 Posted March 16, 2007 The size of it looks like the HD tiller, but I only have seen one.
MPH 12 Posted March 16, 2007 Welcome to the Club Chris. Nice looking 112 you scored with a real nice collection of attachments. Can't tell for sure how rusted your plow is but it's worth the time to polish is up good and clean. Have one I use on my 725 which has become my most fun to use 'toy'. I plant stuff just to plow it under, course, I call it green manure, building the dirt up to soil you know.:D Though I have no need for one I've come close to buying one of those spreaders 'just because'. The HB 112 should take care of your 5 acres just fine, except you hang around here much you'll wind up with a few more that just ' followed you home'sm01
PatRarick 1 Posted March 16, 2007 Welcome to the club, Chris. That's a dream package you wound up with. Appears to be a 38" heavy duty tiller. HB-112 with hydraulic lift is probably the most rare model built.
FastPaul 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Welcome to the club Chris. Love you pictures, My B-112 was my first tractor and still my favorite tractor .A real work horse ^
B-16_IC 1,029 Posted March 16, 2007 Very nice buy! You will never regret it, especially after joining this fine organization.:D I believe that there is enough knowledge floating around here to keep the beast going forever. Nice looking farm you've got there! Also good luck and have fun with the Nadermobile!&:)
Roy 0 Posted March 16, 2007 Chris, Welcome. Very nice tractor and allied group of attachments. The HB112 with hydraulic lift is on of the more sought after tractors. The 38" HD tiller is also a highly desirable implement. Looks like that poor Corvair needs lots of your help. What type of engineer are you? As an ME myself I'm just curious. ZippoVarga 75 Posted March 16, 2007 ags on a lawn you will find actually do fine. I had 23 x 8.5 x 12 power track's on my LL with tri bar tires on the front all last year and did no damage to my lawn what so ever. Not to mention that the turf tires would lose their grip and leave skid marks in the grass where the ags don't spin. From left to right...64LL as purchased in full working order with turf savers on all four corners. It's not yet seen any service, 64 broadmoor, my first simplicity which dug my 5500 gallon pond and pushed over 50 thousand pounds of fill dirt and top soil to landscape around the pond while doing mowing duty on 2.75 acres for the past 7 years and 4 acres the 5 years prior to that with nothing more than regular oil changes. 65 Landlord, picked this one up early last year and mowed with it all season with ags and tri bars on it and a 42 inch deck. Did remarcably well with the 9hp 23D engine. And last but surely not the least is the Sovereign with a 16hp re-power Briggs and Stratton with hydro lift, variable drive and a 48 inch deck. This one has had snow duty and now has dual ags on it to handle some of the heavier work for the spring. Welcome to the club, you have a wonderful first tractor. You will be hard pressed to find another tractor that you will be as pleased with. The hydro tranny AND lift on one tractor of this vintage is fairly rare. Enjoy it!!! And never fear...there's more information here than heinz has pickles.
chrisdm8 0 Posted March 17, 2007 Roy, I am also an ME. I graduated from UC three years ago. The Corvair will be the test project for restoring cars before I tackle the dream project of a '69 corvette. Of course, all that is pending the workshop addition to the barn which may be a year out still. And assuming I don't get side-tracked before then :D Zippo, What did you use for digging your pond? I want to do some regrading and trenching for better drainage this spring. Thanks for all the comments everyone. I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot of me asking questions for a while... johnmonkey 4 Posted March 17, 2007 Great looking set-up you got there. Wecome to the club, I think you may end up with a bigger tractor collection than car colection, tractors are a heck of a lot cheaper. (although my wife don't think so). JH

UCD 14 Posted March 17, 2007 The 38" hd tiller MFG# 1690287 is a hard to find Tiller. It will also be hard to run on the HB-112 with out a cone clutch or rear pto clutch. The 36" tiller looks like it has the built in clutch and is an easy hook up on the HB-112.
ZippoVarga 75 Posted March 17, 2007 I used a manual angled 42 inch dozer/snow plow blade and a LOT of grunting and leaning on that small framed broadmoor! But it was fun to see the little guy do so much.
AGCO918 0 Posted March 17, 2007 You have a nice tractor & attachments. I like the spreader that you have .
