LesH 1 Posted March 17, 2007 I have several Kohler engines- side shaft- I believe K series-- but they do not have any model# or serial# tags. Can anyone give me any ideas on the way to identify or should I pull off the heads and measure the bores?? I am figuring they are 12/ 14 or 16 hp.... Thanks!!! RayS 80 Posted March 18, 2007 I have seen on the front of the blocks near the crank where the model number is casted into the block. 341, 321, 301, ect. Not sure if they did this on all of them or just during a certain time frame.
HubbardRA 19 Posted March 19, 2007 Measure the bores. 12 = 3.25 = K301 14 = 3.5 = K321 16 = 3.75 = K341
Chris727 2,142 Posted March 19, 2007 RayS, yes they did put #s on the casting but it is not 100% accurate, many of the 10hp blocks have the 12hp# cast into them, they used the same block on some and just bored them out different and used different cranks.
