little help: abandoned crawler

Recommended Posts

wminmi
On my way to work for the last month, i've been passing a small old crawler just sitting next to the road in a vacant field. I've stopped and asked every neighbor of this field if they knew who owned the crawler and/or the field, but nobody seems to know. From what i have been told by an elderly gentleman, the crawler has been just sitting there as long as he could remember. Does anybody know or have any ideas on how i would go about finding the owner of this vacant field? All 3 of the nearest neighbors told me to "just take it, nobody would know it's gone and it would get rid of an eyesore" but i'd rather do it "legally" and see if i could find an owner if possible. Anybody?

Go to the town office's and talk to the town clerk. Property records are public infomation and they can tell you who owns the property.

Our county has that kind of info available on their website. Its kind of nice, they have property line overlays to go over the aerial photos. It is searchable by owner, address, etc. GregB

I agree its better to do this the legal way. Our county also has this info on the web. Do a parcel search under the auditors web site for your county.
