MarksA-C
I got a free 16hp briggs for sale. For the price, I couldn't pass it up. 8D Now that I finally have the pulleys off...I thought that I could slap the new ones on and get it mounted. Well, I thought wrong...:Odz This is the Engine shaft, note the half-moon key slots. Here is the engine pulleys from my 5116 (I think they are about the same as the 6516) Note the punched in Key. Here is the problem...Can you see it? Even when pushed on, it doesn't reach the bolt or set in level. Its off by 5-10 degrees. Any info on what I can do would be greatly helpfull. Or if anyone wants to trade a complete and (Hopefully) working 16hp engine for the right one for this tractor. Also...6516 is still waiting for its engine...8C
Al
Hi, Looks like an engine out of a Roper or Sears. They used the stepped crankshaft. This is also true of many of the single cyls. Don't know what to tell you, except to swap the crank or have a pulley custom made. Good luck, Al Eden
RedbarnRick
Hi Mark, That engine looks like what came out of the 6516, measure the pulley diameters and shaft siz then go to ebay and check in outdoor power equipment for stack pulleys, I bet you find the one you need
MarksA-C
Well, I got the engine all back together. And as for the pulleys...My dad is able to take them to work and have it machined (On his own Time) so they will work on my engine. But, if anyone has the exact engine pulleys (Part #: 1700782) I am interested in buying them. Thank You!
