plastikosmd 1,002 Posted March 24, 2007 well, you guys have read about my search for a forklift, suitable for around the house, backyard etc. plan was first to use those GE electric tractor attachments..attach to the b12, then to the pasquali..then i found the prime mover. i had givin the guy that sold me the GE tractors the 300$ cash (husky dealer) i went back, and felt wrong about takin money back, so exchanged units for a brand new husky chainsaw 18"bar, decompresson..etc very nice saw. so now on to the prime mover..i picked it up today. dimensions are about 55"x55" so not to big...between wheels is about 40", and forks are 2'. capacity is 1500lbs. i had some 6ft forks for another project layin around, boxed them in and put them on the prime mover. here are the results. as is..2ft forks boxing forks 6ft forks forks up in storage position just what i wanted! thank god spring is here and wife doesnt need the garage! scott

BLT 725 Posted March 25, 2007 Just a note. Be careful on what you lift with the (6'00") long fingers. The added length diminishes the lifting characterics of the machine. You could lterally flip the lift nose first with a light weight say 500 lbs. Just make sure your steer wheel gives you the same resistance loaded and empty. This tells you that load appears to be ok. I had to buy my first two forklifts for the company I worked for and learned alot.
plastikosmd 1,002 Posted March 26, 2007 thanks blt, yea already got the physics worked out, the rotational torque increases by force x distance. I am more concerned about overloading the machine, rather than flipping. that lift pic is just for demo, highest I will lift is my pickup. also I would never move the machine with it lifting at that height. I do appreciate the info tho! so they gonna give you one of those forklifts when they want to retire them? scott
