Noticed lately when I move the B-112 around the shop using the starter in gear it sounded like it had a valve leaking, but it still started right up and ran strong, so figured it to be 'if I get time' to look into deals. Fired right up to go blow the 2 days worth of blowin snow outta my life, died going out the shop door. Got the head off today to see why, exhuat valve is just a stub going up and down between a 3/4 circle 'washer'

Guess the bright side is the missing piece fell outta the muffler when I shook it, no damage that I can see done. Happened just as I engauged the blower so if there was a noise at all it got drowned out. Took me over 2 hours with the blade on the LL as there is no place to push the snow, hadda break through the berm alnong the driveway in several places. But, least I learned how sweet the HD dozer blade is to use a lot.sm01

Matter of fact I do Dave, but it's a 1990 engine and the part # changed on the valve in 1890, mine is a '75. Anyone know if they are really a different valve? Not enough left of my old one to compare with.

There has to be a reason somewhere for the condition of the valve! Parhaps the wrong color gas or something? Many of the valves are the same. With a good parts counter person, try checking the numbers on yours, and the numbers on an easily available one, a cheaper one... What condition is the seat in? The photo doesn't show a lot of detail. Can it be ground for a new valve, or will you also have to replace the seat?

"Parhaps the wrong color gas" ?? Tried 3 different setting and light to get a good picture of the valve seat but mostly got glare. Found out this 1990 16hp wasn't as rusted up as I thought so I pulled the valve outta it, only difference I see is a different style keeper plus the stem is .015 shorter, judging from the amount of cupping hammered into the valve think this engine had a long running hard life before it meet it's final faith

Dug into a box of a 23D that is waitting to get put together and best I can tell it's the same exhaut valve. Everything measures out the same

Got my parts in yesterdays afternoon mail, desided I couldn't sleep til I heard it running:D. Fired up so quick almost scared me, might have to go look for a snow bank, {won't be hard to find:( } and give it a power test today before I leave for Whitehorse.
