First off I wanted to thank everyone who replied to my post about the value of a couple of tractors. I have not gone back to make an offer on either yet. Next I wanted to thank Mark (MarksA-C) for the lead on another tractor. I called the lead Mark gave me and luckily today I was working right down the road from where it was located. The guy had a bunch of Broadmoors for sale and he also mentioned that his sister had an older Landlord. Well since I have a bunch of Broadmoors already and have been on the lookout for a larger frame tractor I asked him for his sisters phone number. (She and her husband are dairy farmers). I called her and she said come on over. I got there around 3:30pm and no one was around. I walked around the farm to see if I could find someone and finally found her husband. He showed me the Landlord and told me that the connecting rod was broke and there was no deck. I looked it over (it was buried behind a bunch of farm equipment) and he said to me, "If you want it you can have it." !!!!!!!!!!Have it??? !!!!!!! Sure, I'll see if it will fit in the back of my work van. So here it is in all its manure covered glory.

Here it is after three hours of pressure washing and a new seat (I will be installing a correct seat).

I removed the engine and pulled the head to see what the damage was. The cylinder wall was very clean and smooth, no scratches. I pulled off the side cover and saw the real damage. The connecting rod was indeed broke and in totally marred up the crank shaft. Since the engine was pulled I just did a quick check on the trans and bgb by turning the driveshaft and all seemed well right now. I am planning on making a stop by Dave Emmers this weekend and see if he has another engine for me. I should have this moving by next weekend. Then comes disassembly and full restoration. Tom

I had gotten a reply to a "wanted" ad about Simplicity and A/C mowers. And a guy had a load of broadmoors. But they were way to expensive for me. He also said about a LL that his sister (?) had. So I passed it to Tom. Glad it worked out for ya! (This proves to show that local ads do help out alot!)
