I've used Monokote, made for model airplane wings, to make decals for my radio control cars. I'll print out what design I need and stick it on the monokote, and use an X-Acto knife to cut them out. Don't know how intricate you could do, but they held up good. Monokote comes in quite a few colors. Check hobby stores.

I made this decal to replace the factory silver and black decal. This is my design. I laid it out on computer. I flipped it to a mirror image in the computer and then printed it on the backing paper of the vinyl decal material that my son picked up from a model shop for me. I used an x-acto knife to cut out the pertinent areas. The decal is made using black and white vinyl, and the orange is just a hole thru the decal material that lets the paint show thru.

The design was printed on the backing of the white material. I cut out the areas where the black was to be seen, and then stuck the white onto the black. I trimmed it to size, and cut out the area that is orange. I positioned it on the tractor after wetting the area with Windex. I moved it around to get the position right, then let it dry. I didn't think it looked too bad for a homemade job. I guess it just goes with the other two homemade items that can be seen in this picture;):D I thought about trying this method to do the decals on the side of the hood when I re-paint the next tractor.

Eric, That snorkel came off an old Chevy air cleaner for the two barrel 350 engine. I cut the end off, and fitted it to the B/S air cleaner.
