fast_orange 0 Posted March 29, 2007 There is a line drawing on a sleeve hitch adapter that is not made anymore. I own a AC Big Ten and a old Broadmoore I want to get into gardening and dont want a rototiller. I want to slowly buy the equipment that uses this hitch. I cant make out the dimensions can someone help me out. I will have to enlist a friend to help as I don't have a welder yet. and don't want to waste time as its getting time to work the ground. DMedal 1 Posted March 29, 2007 I just made one, if we are talking about the same part. The critical dimensions mostly are in the drawing. Is this the one? The critical dimenstions are the "6.5 inch or measure to fit tractor", and 4" tall sleeve. I used 2" wide 1/4" thick mild steel stock, and a piece of sched 80 1/2" ID tube for the sleeve. Make a cardboard model to get the angles right. Bending 1/4" stock is not real easy. I used a combination of heat and a press. One mistake I made on my first one was welding the sleeve as shown in the picture. I think the drawing is wrong in that regard. Looking at a couple of factory adaptors, it seems the 4" long sleeve is welded with the bottom more or less flush with the bar, sticking up about 2". In the drawing it appears the sleeve sticks up about 1" and would be centered so it sticks below the bar about 1" too. So the ones I'm making after the first have the sleeve welded even with the bar on the bottom. It usually takes me two tries to get this kind of thing just right. The first one is good enough I'm giving it to a friend. I'd send pics, and will if you feel you need them but really the drawing says enough. -Don
