57cub 0 Posted March 29, 2007 Just found your site, looks great, need expertise...Allthough I have a 57 cub and a 53 or so Allis "B" I recently found in a barn that I purchased,a HABAN model 403,series L sickle bar mower,I have been told by the previous owner that it fit a Simplicity, hence I am at your site, Anyone know or know where to find out?The darn thing is new! The paint is just barely off the inner shoe and there is a guard that fits over the fingers with canvas straps to hold it on, I don't beleive it has ever been used.Gearbox belts the whole shootin match!I'd like to find out what it fits because someone out there really needs this, I only wish I could find something like this for the Farmall!!! Any Ideas,,,Thanks......
HubbardRA 19 Posted March 29, 2007 Does the part that mounts to the tractor look anything like this?
Chris727 2,148 Posted March 29, 2007 I believe Haban sickles were used on the 300 and 400 series Allis tractors and possibly on the powermax series but I don't know what # was used.
DMedal 1 Posted March 29, 2007 The 403 series fit a variety of tractors, I can't find anything on the "L". But look at this, who made it: http://www.simpletractors.com/operation/46_sickle_bar.htm
57cub 0 Posted March 30, 2007 I'm gonna roll it around in the barn tomorrow and see if it looks like the pics. I do notice however that it is not orange but it's red and kind of a cream color, and I have been told that it is at least 15 to 18 years old if that is any help, and it came on what was SUPPOSED to be a Simplicity, and never used The tractor was used for years and the sickle bar was put in the barn and never used, and the tractor was sold,,,sure would like to find the tractor?????Thank y'll for the input, I'm gonna keep looking to see if someone has a "magical" chart or something so I can identify exactly what it fits before I put it for sale. I don't want to lie to anyone!!!It will be a great find for whomever has the rig that it fits....
