Gear oil in Sundstrand

Friend of mine bought a 7016 hydro with Sundstrand. When changing the oil, it was obviuos that it had gear oil in it. How bad is it to have run such a heavy oil in it? Also, how does he go about flushing the gear oil out? Thanks

When I bought my 917 the oil looked like it was gear oil and I just thought that it had never been changed. I would drain it refill with type F run it a while and change the oil and filter again.
