AllisPhreak 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Today I recieved a catalog from a company called Surplus Center. I have to say, perusing the catalog, I was finding things I didn't know I needed. At cut rate prices. The web site ? http://www.surpluscenter.com/ transaxles, brand new with warranty as low as $130, every thing...and I mean EVERYTHING hydraulic.....electric lift actuators, limit switches of every concievable kind, electric motors of every type and size, ect. As nice as the site is to peruse....ORDER THE CATALOG. the catalog (free) presents the items in a much more concise way, and an easy reference guide. I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I do. Glen112 2 Posted April 3, 2007 Karl - I have been a Surplus Center advocate since I stumbled on to Doug Byan's "Do-it-yourself" article on spout rotators a few months back. http://www.simpletractors.com/do_it/spout_motor.htm They have a lot of DC gearmotors, some of which I think will work out better for a spout rotator than the one that Doug picked. I can spend hours dreaming up ways to use much of their stuff. I spent over $100.00 recently for a bunch of parts for several projects. They were very prompt with filling the order and shipping it. I am putting my shopping list together for my next order now. I hope you enjoy this resource as much as I do. sm01 Glen (Glen112)
HubbardRA 19 Posted April 3, 2007 I found out about them after replacing a blower motor on my furnace for $155. A friend said look at this catalog. Surplus Center had the same motor for $28. I have bought quite a few things from them over the past few years. Got a new catalog on the coffee table now.
AllisPhreak 0 Posted April 3, 2007 Big problems -- Wife saw me feverishly writing down my order. She hid the credit cards. Hope they take personal checks ! :p
Glen112 2 Posted April 3, 2007 Here is an example of a great deal from Surplus Center: http://www.surpluscenter.com/item.asp?UID=2007040315120020&item=1-3020-L&catname= Would make great set of tires for a trailer that will traverse soft ground. Complete with wheel for $24.95 each. Elsewhere on the internet, the tire alone, without wheel, is $62.00. At 22" OD, I wonder if they would even work, say on my B-112? My rubber is original and getting kind of tired :D. Would need to come up with an adapter from the 4-hole to 5-hole bolt pattern. Not sure either if the 8" wheel would work with the axles on the B-112. Just dreaming! Would not be very original, but I don't believe bar type AGs were either. Any thoughts? Marty-MN 0 Posted April 3, 2007 I've had good luck with them. We have purchased mostly hydraulic parts and pulleys.
