Hydraulic bed lift trailer, not dump

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what these were used for? It has hydraulic cylinders that operate a cantelever type of action that sits the entire trailer flat on the ground and then you pump a lever to raise it for towing. I can't recall the manufacturer name for sure but think it was like trailmaster or something. This has been sitting 8-10 years and the steel is incredibly unrusted. It is amazingly thick and heavy guage. Since the photo was taken I winched it out and found one hub is frozen, all the hydraulic lines are rotted away, the cylinders are probably scrap, and the surge system will need to be overhauled. I plan on getting this home in the next week or so to get a better idea of what it'll need to become roadworthy. It is rated on it's plate for 2000lbs. The lifting system is a very thick cantelevered plate that was somehow attached to the hubs and bed (recalling correctly I think).

It can be used to haul machinery that is not easily lifted onto a trailer. Shop equipment, tractors etc. It think someone here has one. Plastikomd maybe.

yep, great trailer..see my post in the shop section on "used twice..drop once" was just talkin bout it. they have to be overbuilt due to the frame is really the operational part of the trailer. i think my trailer weighs about 2500lbs, and that is for a 6x12 size deck! 2000lbs is a nice size for broken tractors and stuff. mine is a 7k capacity, tho i upgraded the brakes to a 10k system. my deck lifts with a ram...is pulled rather than pushed back up into position. on board electric/hydraulic pump and battery..that charges off of the truck when traveling. good luck with it scott

That is a tractor hauller for sure Eric. See them used by rental places delivering man lifts all the time as those things have almost zero ground clearance thus can't go up a ramp well.

I borrowed a friends large tilt trailer and put my 8000lb ramsey winch to use yesterday to bring home the "trailevator". No new pictures yet due to darkness last night and rain tonight. This is a really heavy trailer. The manufacturer was out of Mich. I did some internet searching and see this is still being made. Here is a link to the page of its latest model. www.fabcor.com/tigtlv03.htm I'm guessing mine is 70's vintage. I'm going to dig into the real condition once the weather improves.
