Am I missing any hi/low transmission parts?

Hello, I've had a hi/low setup for about four years, but haven't gotten around to installing it after I changed out the rear end of the tractor it had been on. It was in a box when I got it and have never used one before. Can you tell me if I have all of the necessary parts? I may try to install it or put it on ebay, we'll see what the tractor budget looks like. Thanks for your help.

Looks like it's all there. You may want to check it out on the old tranny to see if it will engage before going to the trouble of cutting the shaft down on the alternate tranny as they require a shorter shaft to mount to.

Looks like someone has made some extra pieces (white pieces in 2nd and 3rd pics) and attached them to the shift fork assembly to move the shift ring to change from high to low. Missing from this are the pivots and pivot bearings that go where the cap screws are (beside those white pieces) in the shift fork assembly. Also in the last pick the stop is badly worn and should be replaced. Below are two links to manuals on the two speed pulley and a link to a topic about the pivots and pivot bearings. http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/6767PRINT/PDF_files/TP_400_1271_00_AT_S.pdf http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/6767PRINT/PDF_files/TP_400_1296_00_AT_S.pdf http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=21209

Dave, thanks for the reply, do you know if it is a big deal to take it apart and clean and regrease it? I don't really want to mess around with new seals or springs jumping out, never seen inside one before. Thanks again for the info.

Greg, once again, thanks for the information. I was nervous to dig into the Simplicity Tech Pubs because I usually get lost looking at everything under the sun and never find what I'm looking for. It is a great site. Again, thanks for the precice info!

It's no big deal to take apart and clean. Be sure to take your time and keep everything clean. Don't over grease it when you reasemble it if you choose to tear into it.
