Your tractor should take a standard lawn and garden tractor battery, and I'd get one rated for about 300+ amps. Wal-Mart has them for about $35.00 Oh, and welcome to the club!!

These tractors take an NF22. or R51. The standard U1 doesn't have the kick.

DieHard Gold garden tractor battery. Last summer I replaced the first on I bought in 1999. It spend it's first two winters outside, in the tractor, ready for snowduty, under a large cardboard box. Found a fairly new looking one yesterday that got lost in my shop. Was looking for an old gas tank from my B-112 under the bench and came across a battery, put it on the charger, showed full charge, took charger off and checked with volt meter, had 14 volts, WOW, found a battery for the Big Ten I'm working on ^. been told all batteries are the same, well, DieHards have lasted me at least 5 years living in Tok Alaska where they see 60 below and still crank whatever I've used them in. I have no stock in Sears by the way, just happy with them.

I've only had one sears battery but its been a good one. Its one of the little 160 CCA lawn tractor batteries, I bought a sears suburban from a car junyard about 2 years ago, it was sitting at an angle on top of a junk pile (not good for a battery.) I took out the battery, is probably 10yrs old or older (has mid 90's looking sears sticker) and right now I've got it in the 3410 Landlord, still cranks even in the cold.

Well, ther is one place that I go for batteries. Farm & Fleet (Or vise verse) They have the exact thing that you need, and they discount you in you have the old battery. They were able to find the taller and narrower one for my 610 in 5 seconds.:O8D
