616 deck lift

Recommended Posts

Hello, I just bought a AC 616 and the deck lift does not work. Could someone please tell me is this a manual, or power lift? It appears to have a chain attached directally to the lever. (And it still doesnt work) Thank you !! Jeff Morefield.

We need to know which 616 you're talking about. Does it look like this?

Or This?

It is like the top one. Or I should say (MORE) like the top one, since it differs some. It is a Duetz Alis (Sorry to keep correcting myself)!

If the lever dosn't lift the deck shorten the chain from part# 8 to the deck.

I found out that I have a 1616 rather than a 616, and what I thought was a chain, (it was pouring down rain the night that I picked it up), was a S hook. I shortened it up by making a bracket that was shorter than the S hook, but the only way to lift the deck is to lift at the deck height adjuster crank with the right hand, and the lever with the left hand. The deck for some reason is too heavy for the lever alone to lift. Is there something (springs or ?) that helps lift the weight of the deck and makes the lever easier to move?
