Leaving both deck and tillerr mounted, 6000 series

Greetings all, When I began working on our 6008 a couple of weeks back, I re-installed the lift mechanism and tiller to make sure it was all there. The deck was still on the tractor. It immediately became apparent that the lifting gear and the deck and that for the tiller were in each other's way and binding up. The rear-lift mechanism was also preventing the left side of the deck from coming up when retracted. Since I was planning to do some tilling if the rig ran (which it eventually did) I removed the mowing deck....it's easy enough to re-install on the little guy. So...is this a design issue or a my-machine issue? Admittedly, I didn't spend much time looking the problem over. Does anyone else leave their tiller on the back while mowing? My neighbor has an older (gasp!!!) John Deere...he leaves his tiller on the back all year...adds a consderable amount of ballast back there, a positive thing. If other folks leave 'em both on I'll look things over again after my engine swap....perhaps something wasn't quite right underneath or a linkage was bent before I came into possession of the machine, etc. etc. Not that tough or costly time-wise to take either on or off....but like the neighbor the ballast in back is a plus on our ground for traction, and I will be doing some tilling during the mowing season an smooth ground. As an added bonus, if it all remains hooked-up, I won't loose any pieces! Thanks

Only thing I can think of is did you mount it in the right spot. The auxilary lift handle was mounted further foward than the 6200 with no other deck lift. I am not sure on this but I think I recall this from seeing pictures. There maybe two sets of holes in the foot rest??

There are a couple of extra holes in the footies but the only ones the rear lift mechanism fit with on both sides are the ones I used. I don't have the deck on just now....reckon I'll re-examine the issue when the deck goes back on.....perplexing.
