Onan Starter

Been having some problems for a while with the starter on my power max. You have to keep bumping the ignition to get the bendix to finally engage. I have a spare starter that seems to work OK but I was wondering where I could get a kit to put new brushes and bearing in it before I install it. If you know the 9020 you know what I am talking about, I have to pull the motor up to get the starter off.

It's probley not the starter, there is a kit that "AL" has to correct this.

Hi, We do make and sell a kit to fix this problem and have sold a number to users of 620, 720, 4040 and 9020s and other equipment that uses the solenoid actuated starter. Call me at 1-800-462-2218 and I will explain it. They sell for 29.95. We also make kits to adapt the driveshafts that use the rubber coupler on the 7100 and 900AC that is no longer available. Al Eden
