Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone. I am almost finished with my Deck Spindles. I need to know how tight I need to put the top nut on though. Any info would be appreciated. Thank You

Nice Ray. Thanks, I did not know there was such a chart. On a side note, I have a 48 inch ceck that used to have the nut loosen on the center spindle. After a few times, I ended up putting a double nut on it. Now, am almost ready to throw it back together. Anyone else have a problem with the nut on the center pulley/spindle. Any other creative solutions?

I think the spindle pulley retaining nuts are the "self-locking" type. Too many reuses and they lose their self-lock capability. New self-locking nuts will solve the problem. A lock washer beneath the nut will also work.

There are all kinds of charts posted in commonly ask Questions and Tech tips if anyone cares to look.

I agree with ROY about using to many times, if I may add get the stamped locking nut because the nylon in the cheap ones wont hold if any heat is built up while running.
