MarksA-C 93 Posted April 12, 2007 Hello Everyone. I am almost finished with my Deck Spindles. I need to know how tight I need to put the top nut on though. Any info would be appreciated. Thank You
Simpleton7016 3 Posted April 13, 2007 Nice Ray. Thanks, I did not know there was such a chart. On a side note, I have a 48 inch ceck that used to have the nut loosen on the center spindle. After a few times, I ended up putting a double nut on it. Now, am almost ready to throw it back together. Anyone else have a problem with the nut on the center pulley/spindle. Any other creative solutions?
Roy 0 Posted April 13, 2007 I think the spindle pulley retaining nuts are the "self-locking" type. Too many reuses and they lose their self-lock capability. New self-locking nuts will solve the problem. A lock washer beneath the nut will also work.
UCD 14 Posted April 13, 2007 There are all kinds of charts posted in commonly ask Questions and Tech tips if anyone cares to look.
mendon-chalmers 0 Posted April 13, 2007 I agree with ROY about using to many times, if I may add get the stamped locking nut because the nylon in the cheap ones wont hold if any heat is built up while running.
