plastikosmd 1,002 Posted April 13, 2007 i cant decide if my favorite part of that machine is the rear bumper the boat fuel tank, the plumbing for the hydraulics coming out of the tank, the 1 hubcap or the office chair. that is priceless..thanks for sharin o and yes..i have a 4ft york rake..works great behind my allis b12 scott

mikes67B12 0 Posted April 13, 2007 sorry did'nt realize i was'nt allowed to post picssm00 actually it's not a rear bumper it's a grader blade. old meyers plow mounted backwards with a piece of I beam. oil tank is and old hot water heater. seat is actually a high end tractor seat. yeah the grille is priceless. the boat tank actually is a great idea. it's works well.the bed dumps also. it's a 59 willys overland wagon. flathead 6. 4wd. loader is a manual trip for bucket. anyway my concern about the rake behind the small tractor was that it just was'nt enough weight to do the job. richp 0 Posted April 13, 2007 I made A york rake years ago. Worked good, but I had to put weight on it to grab the rocks. I welded rebar to make poor mans tines. One issue I had was when I used to put some down pressure from the hydro lift on the rake, it would want to lift the rear, thus loosing traction.
stevenj 4 Posted April 13, 2007 The landscape rakes that I've seen for garden tractors have a couple of guide wheels that are behind the rake to allow the tractor to pull the unit using the drawbar. No lift mechanism is required, because the rake unit has a device to raise and lower the rake relative to the wheels to apply more or less downpressure. MPH 12 Posted April 14, 2007 Before I got the 4040 I had a 5 foot york rake mounted on my B-112. Was made for a cat 1 3pt hitch, which I modified a lot and build a hitch for the B-112. Pulled it fine but I'm sure I was beyond max recomened wt. Still had strong arm lift then and even with 100lbs counter wt on the blade hitch out front lifting it was tough on my left arm. jackcobb 11 Posted April 14, 2007 I have used them several times over the years. They do an excellent job. Had one that you lifted with the sleve hitch on a B-10. And then put in a 1 acre lawn with a pull type I rented at the local hardware store behind a 712.
