Honda GX670 muffler

I have a GX670 in a Allis. I see newer model engines have black muffler, looks like a step up from original round Allis muffler, left discharge. Any one have any experience with newer muffler? Trying to call Tulsa engine supplier. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know what muffler you are seeing, but many people here are interested in finding a quieter muffler!

I purchased a Honda GX670 from Small Engine Warehouse and was told that this was the last of “good mufflers” to be shipped. The muffler is very quiet. As for these Honda mufflers being a “step up”, I doubt they are. The original 720 mufflers are more than thirty years old and still muffling very well. Your Tulsa engine mufflers are probably different than Small Engine Warehouse.
