i know i got theese post all backwards. ok, lets back up here. on the way to my house my buddy drove by a house about a mile away from me and saw theese guys cutting up tractors and throwing them in a dumpster. he stoped talked to the daughter and found out her dad past away. she said take what you want its all junk. he stopped the cutting torch guys and told them he'll be right back. we'll we dumped his cub off at my place hooked up the trailer and took another truck with us back there. holy smokes i was in junk heaven. heres some pics of the load. landlord. with the black paint. anybody tell me a year?

everything is pretty frozen up.

broadmoore with hi-lo. whats the story on those wieghts?

and a blue & white john deere 110. i thought they where all green.

2 garden plows. brinley looking one in top of pic, and unknown one on the left. also a little drag.

they cut 2 of theese old sears in half. i just wanted the tires after that. kinda upset when they torched them.

with my landlord broke down, i was glad the cub was there to pull theese around.

are theese factory side bolted lights on this landlord?. my other one has the bar that goes acrooss under the hood

how about these broadmoore lights. factory?

and to end the day{we thought} we went out and collected some fire wood. while bringing the load back the cub died and lost spark{bad condenser}so i got the wheel horse out after all and towed it back to the shop for a quick fix. then we called it a day. but oh no, its not over yet. tomarrow i am picking up another 1-2 loads. if weather permits. stay tuned for part 4 of my weekend. need to go to bed, im beat............

Hey. Those lights on the Broadmoor look factory to me. Not sure about the LL lights though.

64 LL, 65-66 Broadmoor. The presence of side plates on the broadmoor eliminates it from the original 64 model. The light bar on the broadmoor is original and scarce. The light brackets on the 64LL are from a later square hood model. Those weights are refered to as doughnut weights, usually used on the large framed tractors. HOLD ONTO THEM. The JD is a VERY collectible Patio JD. If a restoration was in order on any of them, money wise, the JD would yield the greatest return. The Landlord has a 23D engine. PDF File is available through the Briggs sight. Be VERY careful with dry firing the 23D briggs. The lack of real bearings on the crank to block plates can cause you major scalding issues and render the crank and end plates useless with out re-surfacing and bushing the end plates and crank. The half tractor frame with ags still has the identification plates on it. With those you can figure out if the rear transaxle is desireable or not for re-sale to help finance the repairs to the LL and Broadmoor. The seat on the half tractor would make a great shop bench if you could find an old milk barrel. If your into stuff like that that is. Enjoy, fantastic haul!

Around here the Deere Patios are bringing about a $$$ Grand $$$ for restoration projects. The old Blue David Bradley Sears was worth some money, till they cut it in half.

Great haul indeed. Sean(ZippoVarga) You get a gold star for a great response. Can't really add anything to what you said.

the sears david bradley is still worth something. the rear end is the same as used on most of the walk behinds and being a tractor, it has the very desirable "reversing kit" that will mount right on the walkers

Nice save! I have been having sad thoughts lately knowing that around here scrap has been $160-$180 a ton! I am sure some good stuff is getting scrapped, some people just don't understand that there are people like us who still use this stuff. I scrap some myself, but if I take the Victor to it, it is junk!

The Broadmoor looks like it is a 717 from 1967-68. If that is the right engine anyway - can tell by the carb. The side panels that cover up the steering gears were only on the 707 and 717 models - the first 3 years of 6hp Broadmoors were open under the fuel tank. The lights are correct, and the rear weight set up is the correct factory option. The donuts are just add-ons to the bar if you needed more weight. It also appears to be a 36" deck? Hard to tell in the picture, but 717's were the only round hood Broadmoor to come with a 36", although it would swap onto any of them. That JD Patio tractor should easily finance the fix up of your other tractors, or since your investment cost was right, maybe keep it because you won't get another one like that again! Tim
