the NASTY 707 deck

Here's some pix of the original 707 deck i just pulled apart. I figured i could patch it (didn't look too bad at 1st) but after i got the belt cover off, MY GOSH was she SHOT :( I ended up taking it totally apart, minus the spindles, and swapping the "carrage" i think it's called (mounts the deck to the mower) and bolted it onto a small 725 deck i had lying around. I did have to drill 2 holes in the 725 deck, for "stand-offs" where the rear lift bracket and chain goes, but otherwise it was a direct swap :D Got the "new" deck back under it and fired her up....thinking i'll be swapping spindles fairly soon, as the "725" spindles howl like no tomorrow while the "707" deck spindles hummed right along quietly :D All in all, i LIKE this little bugger 8D

Ouch. Nice job on the swap, though.
