Broadmoor 707: hi-lo question

Recommended Posts

wminmi
Picked up a little 707 today, runs like a top!! It has "hi, low, reverse" on one shifter, then "hi-lo" on another shifter. One the "hi-low" only shifter, with the machine in "low" there is a "clunking" noise.....is this normal? It only does it in "low", but it has me curious

Hi, I think this is normal. It is the "lugs" on the case "banging" back and forth on the stop they slide into. Al Eden

Off the top of my head, 990324 is the manufacturer number for a Broadmoor low range. I think the snowblower manual also includes the low range info also - 990289? Check on Simplicitys website for the owners manual and download it. They are kind of noisy, but your stopper or the ring of bolts may be worn, loose, etc. If you aren't going to use the tractor when lo range would be needed, take it all off and install a plain trans input pulley of the same diameter. I am sure lots of people would trade you for the hi-lo range..... Tim

Tim ~ thanx for the information, and 990324 was indeed the part/mfg number for the low speed. Not wanting to swap the hi-lo out, having way too much fun with it :D
