I would buy the Big Ten alot heaver built and you can do more with it. Just compare the specs for each. http://www.simpletractors.com/models/b_series/big_ten/big_ten.htm http://www.simpletractors.com/models/b_series/b-207/b-207.htm

Doesn't matter, if you buy one you will end up with several anyway. I would recommend buying both!!:D

If used only for mowing, I prefer the B207. It would probably use less gasoline. Having said that, not all mowing is equal. A small yard, say an acre or less, with not too many hills, I'd say the B207. But a bigger yard, the larger machine would be better, if it has a bigger deck. In equal condition, the B207 should cost half the money of the Big Ten. Most of the folks on this site like the B's better, and they like that horizontal crank Briggs motor. Good luck with your decision. IMO, either one is a good choice. Both will produce a better cut quality than most of the new mowers on the market. Tacey

Better buy them both, with 2.5 acers to mow you need a spare.

I have about 1/2 to 3/4 acre to mow. I use a B-207 that I repowered with a 12hp B&S. I like the small size and easy to manuvere turning on the 207.

just thought of something, do these older machines 'stripe' a lawn, like alot of newer tractors?

Does this answer your question?

I feel that they older machines will do even better than the new ones. but that is my opinion.
