camsore 0 Posted April 18, 2007 I installed a new drive belt on my Landlord and when I push in the clutch I can't get the transmission to stop to put it in gear. The belt is loose. Should I put heavier gear oil in?
MPH 12 Posted April 18, 2007 Check out the brake on the left side of the tranny. It should stop the tranny from spining when you step in the clutch. If your lucky it may just need adjusting, if your not, it may need new lining.
Roy 0 Posted April 19, 2007 Also make sure you have all the pulley belt guards and wire belt stops on the tractor and they are properly adjusted.
HubbardRA 19 Posted April 19, 2007 If the belt is too narrow and rides low in the pulley grooves, it can do this even if the belt stops are adjusted properly. Use the proper Simplicity belt.
