Rob-B
I put my 38" heavy duty tiller on tonite and gave it a whirl. Didn't seem to do as good as job as my 36" tiller. I've gone trough the trouble shooting guide from the manual. I'm wondering if the tines are to worn. Could some body take pictures of there tines so I could compare them to mine please? Also does any one else running this tiller have a problem with the belt rubbing on the hydro filter on the side of the tranny? Thank You. ambler
Rob, There's a pulley kit, UCD can give you a number so it doesn't rub. Take the skids off so it will till deep.
gregc
Rear PTO Drive Kit MFG# 1685225. http://www.simplicitytechpubs.com/6767PRINT/PDF_files/TP_200_3091_01_SK_SMA.pdf I believe the complete kit or bracket is NLA, but here is a link to dimensions of the bracket: http://www.simpletractors.com/club2/topic.asp?ARCHIVE=true&TOPIC_ID=52355
Mack
Rob, Check that the tines are on the right way first. I took mine apart to fix a broken chain and put the tines back on the wrong sides. First time I tried to till afterwards it would only dig 3-4 inches. :(!C
RayS
I have owned both and personally believe that the 36" will till deeper and does a better job.

kawram
I just got a 36" tiller it does the samething, rubbing the filter, as Rob's 38" on my 17 GTH-L. Does it require the same kit. Mark

Paul_B
I've got a 38" tiller with brand new tines. If no one posts a pic, I'll snap some of mine when I get it out in the next couple of days.
nahrwoldt
I have used both tillers and I like the 38" due to it does not shake the tractor or vibrate as bad as the the 36". It will also dig thru anything. I sold my 36" because of the great job it does in the garden.
