-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's confusing to find things on this site, but I have only two simple questions. In the pictures below, is this indeed a Briggs 10HP engine? and I can't find a schematic which would give me the number of the missing idler pulley for a rear attachment.

Good morning, welcome to the club. There should be numbers etched on the side of the fan housing. you should be able to get the engine # etc from there. The # for the pulley can be found on the simplicity web site where there are pdf files for every tractor and implement. You will get used to the site (if you look enough you will find anything you need to know). There is a policy that non-members can not download pictures. If you do decide to become a member, you can download pictures and search the archives. It is well worth the investment. I have been member for about 6-7 years and have not regretted it once. JH

Thanks. I'm actually repairing this for an 80 year old man who wants to use it....really. I don't have any Simplicity equipment myself. My hardest job will be finding the idler pulley. Everything else seems to be loose. It was left out in the weather and it's a basket case.
