dav
finally putting the 23D back together. the valve springs seem to be slightly different in strength. the book says the heavier spring should be the exhaust spring. the springs have a cup at the top, which is the same for both intake and exhaust. but the seat at the other end is different. one is set up to rotate the valve. which valve gets the rotator seat, intake or exhaust? first parts to go in and already i'm having problems. hope it isn't all going to be like this. Roy
Exhaust valve gets the rotator to help keep it from burning in one spot.

dav
thought i would be able to pry the springs enough to get the little keepers onto the stems WRONG! none of the valve spring compressors at the local parts store (advanced auto) were the right type so i bought a $6 door panel removing tool that looked like it would do the trick. WRONG again! an hour to get the intake in and my finger tips banged up. went to Sears, the next town over. they had the big 'c' clamp style compressor for $20. had to have 'she who must be obeyed' help hold the compressor but it only took 5 minutes. by then it was beer;30 so tomorrow i will continue
