3210V

Hi everyone, here's my latest aquisition; a 3410 V. Was a long drive to get it but got to visit some relatives along the way. Points and condenser look new. Battery needed a boost but with that the engine roared to life. Runs really nice. Deck is good too, has one little rust hole in it. Spindles are all tight and spin freely. The tiller is in good shape too. There is something going on with the variable that keeps it from being a driver right now. Not sure if it needs adjusting or fixing. Missing the hood too but that doesn't matter I don't think this will be a keeper for me.

Anyone ever seen a pulley like this before?

Yes, I've seen many of those pulleys before, in many different sizes. They are for flat belt drives.

Nice find, I like those wheel weights. I'm curious, were there any factory attachments that ran off a flat belt?

Glad you made it home, you have a lot more faith in bungy cords then I do, which might be because the dozen or so I have around are all road kills:D

It's a 3210, mistyped it bigger. Those tie downs are rope ratchets rated at 250lbs each. Fast and effective. The bungie you see is keeping pressure on one hook to make sure it can't bounce out of the eye socket (I tend to travel quickly). I know bigger machines use the flat belt pulley's but I've never know a little one to.

Marty, At least you don't think they'll tow a car. ;) When I was working in a home depot type store (Chase Pitkin) back in New York when I was a teenager... I swear, a male customer, aged 30-35 actually brought over to me a package of 3 lightweight bungee cords, the type that can only hold 30 lbs or less- and he actually asked me "Will this pull a car?" B)XX(:drl

Thanks Bruce. I've got some plans for it and have been prepping my trailevator for it's arrival. I'll get a picture and post another thread. As far as the new arrival 3210V, I started tearing into it this morning and it's in peices now. The BGB has about 1/4 inch of free play when you turn the driveshaft and hold a BGB pulley; I think it's seen some better days. Everything came apart pretty easily, I think this is the newest one I've dismantled :). Didn't get the PTO for the mower deck off and haven't attacked the rear end too much yet but found the hub on the drivers side had some play in the keyed groove from being driven around loose. I tossed alot of stuff from it on Ebay ($to make Mrs. happy) but there is still quite a lot of little things to get removed.
