Roy 0 Posted April 30, 2007 Some of the "lifetime" locust fence posts I installed about 30 years ago failed. Hence, I had to replace a few. Picture is 7013S with carry-all box hauling the bad/surplus posts to the curb for pick up by the city. Forklift and carry-all box are very handy.
MPH 12 Posted April 30, 2007 To the dump? ou should cut those locust posts up for firewood for both of your cold days next winter:D Looks like a good load hangging back there.

Roy 0 Posted May 1, 2007 Marty, A couple of the posts were still solid. The rest were like sponges. But, I do have a stack of firewood available for emergency use in case the power fails in the winter. :) Chris, Yes it is. :) Kent, Unfortunately all that weight is mostly over rear axle and not in front of it. :(
Chris727 2,136 Posted May 1, 2007 Nice looking rig, wish my Baron was that nice.
HubbardRA 19 Posted May 1, 2007 Roy, Thought you would have a 6-speed in that tractor by now. Is that what you were wanting the AGs for?
Roy 0 Posted May 1, 2007 Thanks Chris. :) Rod, Just finished painting a set of 5" wide B-1/700 rims. Thinking of ags for the B-1. That's why I was asking you about spare rims. Haven't decided if I want to put the 6 speed in the 3212V or the 7013S. The 7013S works much better with your planetary housing and brake band. Is great for what I've been using the tractor for (carry-all box). Just wouldn't want to mow with it. Stay tuned for more later.
ambler 0 Posted May 1, 2007 Looks like you know how to use those running boards.
HubbardRA 19 Posted May 2, 2007 Ambler, Roy is a closet RBT person. He says he is a foot dragger, but just can't help riding those RBTs, since they are so nice and comfortable.8D Roy, I use the shuttle tractor as my primary mower. In my yard with all the trees and other things to mow around, the shuttle actually is faster than a hydro. I like the smoothness of engagement of the shuttle. It switches directions much smoother than a hydro. The hydro is the strong one. I use it for all the hard work, like dragging things, or pulling trailers, or blowing snow. Won't be too long till I will be hooking that tiller to the 716H also. Gonna take your suggestion and remove the cone clutch. Should go right on then. HubbardRA 19 Posted May 2, 2007 Now Mike, I would not expect you to make fun of Roy.:O After all, in this case he needs the running boards so that he can adjust his foot position, to compensate for the forward ballast.
FastPaul 0 Posted May 2, 2007 Nice work Roy !! Glad to see you got off the floor and got some fresh air :D
Roy 0 Posted May 2, 2007 Ambler/Rod/MDB, "Roy is a closet RBT person" Not so; am really a FDT person. FBT's are much easier to get on/off, turn sharper with their shorter wheelbase, and steer easier. They also feel much more stable on hillsides. May have to pull a Marty (MPH) by removing the running boards and installing foot rests. :D Despite the above, I do prefer my new Sovereign with hydro for mowing. Horsepower and variable speed are nice. Also note the extra ballast reduces the need for wheel weights. FastPaul, "Glad to see you got off the floor and got some fresh air " True but it is much more comfortable laying on soft carpet rather than working out in the hot sun. ;)
toomanytractors 0 Posted May 2, 2007 You bunch of wise guys leave Roy alone!! When you get old and decrepit and can't climb up on those running boards you'll be begging someone for a foot dragger.:D I have both and do prefer the fdt but will have to admit any one of my three 3410's with 42" deck makes a pretty nice outfit!! MPH 12 Posted May 3, 2007 If you decide to convert them RBT's of yours to real tractors Roy, just remember to cut a slot in the foot rests for the lift lever to go through. Wouldn't hurt to cut the right side running board up and use the back part for the park brake if you need it also.

Roy 0 Posted May 7, 2007 The city just picked up the posts this morning. I put them at the curb last Tuesday. Pretty good service compared to most places. ;) dOd
HubbardRA 19 Posted May 7, 2007 Well guys, Roy brought that tractor, with the carry-all box to Spring Fling. He also showed us how he drives it around with his wife Fay sitting in the box. Hard to believe that she went along with that demonstration.:D8D
