MPH 12 Posted May 2, 2007 When I was mowing the other day with the Cavalier, thinking this tranny was like a shuttle, going from forward to reverse it really jerks, so I used the clutch when shifting gears. Just read a reply by Rod saying a shuttle is smoother then a hydro, so got to wondering just what the Cavalier is suppose to act like. thanks.
HubbardRA 19 Posted May 2, 2007 Marty, the shuttle uses a belt to couple two sides of a pulley together to engage forward motion. To go backward, the belt is disengaged and a band brake is engaged to stop a shaft from turning. These are both very smooth engagements on my 713S. Marty, I think you are supposed to use the clutch on a Cavalier.
MPH 12 Posted May 2, 2007 Thanks Rod. No stripes and gotta clutch it, sounds like future go-cart material too mesm00
