Goodyear ags 10.50 on 7" rims?

I recently bought a used pair of Goodyear terra grip ags. They were full of calcium, in the tubes, one leaked about 90% out and ate the rim upsm00. It is a 7" rim like my B-12s (came off a 3410), would they look or pull better on wider rims? They are 23 10.50x12. Anybody used this combo? Thanks!

The wider rims will make the tire set flatter and put more rubber on the ground. the narrow rims will make the tire slightly taller and will dig more with the middle of the tire. for pulling I would think the flatter tire would work best on softer tracks while the more crowned tire should dig a little better on hard tracks. Either that or I have the whole thing backwards.:D JW

I have my 23x10.5x12 tires mounted on rims that are 10.5 inches wide. With the wider rim, you can use more pressure in the tire and still keep the full tread in contact with the ground. I once had a set mounted on the 7 inch rims, but had to run the tire pressure very low to get maximum traction.

Sounds like I will do ok with the 7", they will spend most time in the garden. Wider rims would mean more money I am sure!:( I am sure I will hit a track or two just to play.:D Thanks guys, I knew I would find the expeirience here that I needed.

Rich, I widened my own wheels, by cutting them into two pieces and welding a band into them to make them wider.

8D Hmmm..... widen my own rims. Now there is an idea I had not thought of.:I How embarrassing, thank you for suggesting that! Now I have a mission.^ I put the one that was up on my B-16 project and gotta say they have a home! Dual 6x12s for gardening, and the 10.50s for everything else? Well we'll see! Thanks again!:)

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
