Michiganmobileman 0 Posted May 5, 2007 Hello all, Is there a way to obtain a serial number for an engine that is missing the tag by cross reference with tractor model and serial number 919 Serial #1061? Looks like the tag was scraped off the engine but pretty sure the engine is original yet. Thanks,Greg
2burning 1 Posted May 6, 2007 I don't know of a way, but what are you thinking about, just trying to buy parts, or trying to do a 100% restore, or ...? If you are trying to get parts, you should be able to sort some things out by looking at www.kohlerplus.com/login.asp with IE. There looks like 9 spec number Simplicity KT19s to look at. mbrook 0 Posted May 7, 2007 If your looking for used parts let me know, I have a KT19 that broke a rod. The case is still good. I planned on parting it out but haven't done that yet.
Michiganmobileman 0 Posted May 7, 2007 Thanks guys I guess I should have specified that I have no spec number on it either. I was going to download the manuals from kohler but was stumped by the amount of spec #s there. Mark, what is the motor from that you have? Spec # on that? Is there many differences between spec#s? I really have no immediate needs for repair except slight leak at front oil seal. Im just the kind of guy who likes to know what is what and yes I like to read the directions before I start a project:D. Greg
mbrook 0 Posted May 8, 2007 Greg, FYI my tag reads: Model No. KT19S Spec No. 49225 Serial No. 2003917276 Again let me know if you need anything.
2burning 1 Posted May 8, 2007 On the single cylinder K series (and I imagine on the 2 cylinders too), there aren't too many differences. One nice thing about the Kohler site is you can look at one spec motor, get a part number, then reverse search on that part number and see how many other spec motors the part fits on. Michiganmobileman 0 Posted May 8, 2007 My engine is a series II, but that is all i can see as far as ID. according to the cross reference at simple tractors my tractor was made between 81-82 (1690642 Ser 1061). Would this be the original engine? What does the PS-49125 PS stand for? Thanks again for the help guys Greg
